About Vermont Hardwood Pens

Hello, My name is Jim Cunningham and I live in beautiful Bristol Vermont, Gateway To The Green Mountains.

I moved to here in 1984 and a year later built a log cabin for a friend. I went on to build several more houses over the next few years and my life seened like there was something missing untill the mid 90's I began to make rustic furniture, it felt so wonderful working this way with things of nature. Over the next 5 years I made a few hundred pieces, clocks. mirrors. small tables, stools and benches.

I began turning pens in 2001 for the National Wildlife Federation and almost from the start it became an addiction. I could not stop, I kept turning and turning and today I have made over 10,000 pens.

In the beginning most of my orders were from large non profit groups for gifts. From those first orders my business skyrocketed and has continued to this day.

Today I sell pens to a few select stores, do one or two craft shows a year, sell from my website and most of my pens are sold as corporate gifts.
