A collection of Monkton photographs have been published in a book called "Monkton, The Way It Was".  The collection of photographs cover a time period from the 1800's to 1950 and include pictures of homesteads, town business, schools, recreation and much more.  The book was compiled by Helen Layn, and Candace and Pat Polzella.  All proceeds from the book are being donated to the restoration of the East Monkton Church.

The book can be purchased is available from Helen Layn (453-3509) or at the Russell Memorial Library in Monkton.  The library will be open on Tuesdays from 3:00 - 8:00, Fridays from 9:00 - 1:00, and Saturday from 9:00 - 2:00.  The cost of the book is $20.00 with an additional fee of $5.00 for mail order copies.
